Common core standards + merging districts... An attack on Democracy?

Having a common core standard for ELA may not be the best thing for students. Why? Because who is to say what is important and what is not? There are way too many variables, in different parts of the state for this to work. More on this later. Smaller school districts that are strapped for cash are being urged to merge with larger ones. This is another attack on local control of education... Neoliberalism is still alive and attacking the foundations of American Democracy...public schools... More later.

Safe schools

Been thinking about safe schools lately as I have seen an inordinate number of fights on campus since the school resource officer had to return to a beat because of budget concerns. This is not a good thing.

Um...ok...sad

Well the burger I ordered medium came rare. And cold. The French fries were also cold. The food matched the beer...cold. Service was good too bad the food wasn't. Yardhouse does this type of restaurant way better. A word about the decor. It looks like IKEA meets Big lots. Oh well.

Giving Eureka Burger another try.

Well its Tuesday. Time for lunch and that will include some Green Flash and a Cobb burger. We shall see how they do this time. The place has about 20 people in it at the moment. Well the Green Flash is good. More later.
